Alara Addal, (-1839, -1745) was a spinner in Meroe.
Alara believed in Animism.
He lived a life of absolute poverty. Eating or sleeping in a safe place was a constant struggle. He was considered as belonging to the lowest caste. However, he made some friends among it. He was known to have a good technical knowledge of their job and some pieces of general knowledge. He could read and write a little bit. He was force of nature, and people saw in their body and beauty the incarnation of a god. He was known to be lazy, barely waking up in the morning.
Alara, 85 years old, thief, became the new leader of the family.
9 years later, Alara had an opportunity to change his activity. After some time and some learning, he became spinner. The same day, Alara survived tetanus.
Alara died of exhaustion after a normal day of work.
