Chepkirui Monarcher, (-1990, -1889) was a latrines keeper in Kaditshwene.
Chepkirui believed in Shamanism.
She lived a life of absolute poverty. Eating or sleeping in a safe place was a constant struggle. She belonged to the low caste of the society, and had some friends among the servants, beggars and workers. She had only a basic knowledge that summed up to a few oral stories from childhood. She was force of nature, and people saw in their body and beauty the incarnation of a god. She was soft-spirited, rejecting any responsability.
Chepkirui, 67 years old, latrines keeper, became the new leader of the family.
Aged 81, Chepkirui decided to visit the world. She went on a long journey and reached Adrar Bous, in Africa : a couple of houses in the shadow of a huge mountain. On the road, she had to cross some borders and blend into the natives, hiding her true culture. Then she came back and was quite happy to find her house and family. A few weeks later, Chepkirui protected someone that was chased by authorities.
10 years later, Chepkirui needed more love in her life and began to flirt around. Chepkirui had a passionate affair with Amasis, a stunning man, 81 years old, a mercenary. Soon after, Chepkirui overcame a depression. A few days later, Chepkirui fell in love with Teriahi, an ugly man, 39 years old, a basket maker. Both married and lived together from now on.
In the year -1889, Chepkirui understood that only by helping each other one can truly live. Half a year later, Chepkirui couldn't heal a sore tooth.
Chepkirui died of exhaustion after a normal day of work.
