Epimanes Carpenteresi, (1305, ?) was a moneylender in Barcelona.
Epimanes believed in Hellenistic religion.
He was at the time the top fortune in the world and lived an opulent life, richer than a whole country. He belonged to an influential family that could help in any occasion. Moreover, he was seen as belonging to the low nobility and as such, was somewhat courtised by many people. He had a refined culture, and was known to read, and sometimes write, for pleasure. He was force of nature, and people saw in their body and beauty the incarnation of a god. He had an unbending mind, always reaching their goal.
