Shabaka Nedjehcox, (1067, ?) was a monk in Chinguetti.
Shabaka believed in Shamanism.
He lived a life of absolute poverty. Eating or sleeping in a safe place was a constant struggle. He lived as an outcast. To tell the truth, in Chinguetti, he gained the trust or the friendship of no one. He had only a basic knowledge that summed up to a few oral stories from childhood. He was force of nature, and people saw in their body and beauty the incarnation of a god. He was mostly indecisive, usually accepting any order from anyone.
