Nekesa Barberoff, (-1659, -1590) was a spinner in Ngwenya Mine.
Nekesa believed in Animism.
She lived mostly in extreme poverty. Simply eating was an issue, most of the days. She belonged to the low caste of the society, and had some friends among the servants, beggars and workers. She had a low knowledge of life, summing up to some technical tricks and tales from Ngwenya Mine. She was force of nature, and people saw in their body and beauty the incarnation of a god. She was a determined one, living an independant way of life.
Nekesa, 62 years old, spinner, became the new leader of the family.
Aged 69, Nekesa decided to visit the world. She went on a long journey and reached Banganarti, in Africa : a small village of mud houses between the 3rd and 4th cataract of the Nile. The travel was the occasion to do some merchandise dealing, and she made some business. Then she came back and was quite happy to find her house and family. A few days later, Nekesa was invited to a prestigious diner with many influential people. At the same time, Nekesa missed her departed, loved ones.
Nekesa died of exhaustion after a normal day of work.
In the year -1583, Nekesa, 76 years old, spinner, became the new leader of the family.
