Banyong Basket, (1521, ?) was a salt miner in Bangkok.
Banyong believed in Shamanism.
He earned enough to live a decent life and never worried too much to meet ends. He belonged to the low caste of the society, and had some friends among the servants, beggars and workers. He had a refined culture, and was known to read, and sometimes write, for pleasure. He was force of nature, and people saw in their body and beauty the incarnation of a god. He was considered strong-willed, a leader at heart.
