Shanti Alarakin, (1493, 1559) was a glass worker in Hanoi.

He was at the time the top fortune in the world and lived an opulent life, richer than a whole country. As a noble, he had a strong power over most of the society. Anyone tried to gain their favors. People saw Shanti as cultivated, eager to read and learn when possible, and mastering writing, which he did for friends. He was weak, and fell ill all the time. He was iron-willed, achieving any goal he set.
Shanti, 57 years old, glass worker, became the new leader of a new branch of the family.
