Urhie Gardette, (-1878, -1809) was a tailor in Ngwenya Mine.
Urhie believed in Ancient Egyptian religion.
He lived a life of absolute poverty. Eating or sleeping in a safe place was a constant struggle. He belonged to the low caste of the society, and had some friends among the servants, beggars and workers. He was known to have a good technical knowledge of their job and some pieces of general knowledge. He could read and write a little bit. He was robust, stunning, and never got sick a single time. He was known to be lazy, barely waking up in the morning.
Urhie, 48 years old, tailor, became the new leader of the family.
At the age of 55, Urhie stole something but got caught. He had to give some of his belongings as a compensation. A few weeks later, Urhie mortified himself for his sins.
Aged 69, Urhie decided to enjoy life. He spent everything he earned for the pleasure of the body and the mind. Many people in Ngwenya Mine were invited to enjoy life with him, and thus, he made many friends. Half a year later, Urhie blackmailed a famous figure in Ngwenya Mine to gain influence. Later, Urhie fell in love with Udjebten, a charming woman, 35 years old, a brick maker. Both married and lived together from now on.
Soon after, Udjebten got pregnant and gave birth to an adorable baby. However, the baby died in the following year by an accidental fall. The whole family was shaken.
