Beren Sazaki, (623, ?) was a jester in Istanbul / Constantinople / Byzantium.
Beren believed in Mithraism.
She lived a life of absolute poverty. Eating or sleeping in a safe place was a constant struggle. She was considered as a worker, belonging to the laborer caste of the society. She had struggles in accessing safe and well payed jobs and businesses. However, she made many friends. She was seen as a true poet, and legends says that she couldn't live without reading and writing. Years after, some of the works Beren made are still enjoyed and sometimes studied. She was robust, stunning, and never got sick a single time. She was mostly indecisive, usually accepting any order from anyone.
