Gadise Samuelson, (-1624, -1549) was a spinner in Ife.
Gadise believed in Ancient Egyptian religion.
She lived mostly in extreme poverty. Simply eating was an issue, most of the days. She was considered as belonging to the lowest caste. However, she made some friends among it. People saw Gadise as cultivated, eager to read and learn when possible, and mastering writing, which she did for friends. She was physically powerful, with a perfect body in a perfect health.She was soft-spirited, rejecting any responsability.
Gadise, 51 years old, spinner, became the new leader of the family.
In the year -1564, Gadise invested time and efforts into a special artistic creation, but it wasn't a success, for she had no enough culture. People made fun of her attempt at creation, and Gadise lost courage. A few weeks later, Gadise moved into a bigger home.
Aged 75, Gadise decided to go back to where her family came. She packed a few possessions and departed for a the old place she often talked about. Everywhere she went, she was despised. The family settled in Ife. On the first day of the month after, Gadise created a tradition of an annual family meeting. At the same time, Gadise had to fight in a war and came back injured.
