Habtamu Lane, (-2233, -2178) was a salt miner in Aksum.
Habtamu believed in Shamanism.
He lived a life of absolute poverty. Eating or sleeping in a safe place was a constant struggle. He lived as an outcast. To tell the truth, in Aksum, he gained the trust or the friendship of no one. He was seen as a true poet, and legends says that he couldn't live without reading and writing. Years after, some of the works Habtamu made are still enjoyed and sometimes studied. He was strong, beautiful, and long lived. He was mostly indecisive, usually accepting any order from anyone.
Habtamu, 48 years old, salt miner, became the new leader of the family.
Aged 55, Habtamu decided to go back to where his family came. He packed a few possessions and departed for a the old place he often talked about. The travel was uneventful, and a little bit boring and long. The family settled in Aksum. On the first day of the month after, Habtamu fasted on a regular basis. A few weeks later, Habtamu wrote a song.
