Mert Galanadel, (-658, ?) was a executioner in Istanbul / Constantinople / Byzantium.
Mert believed in Yazdanism.
He earned enough to live a decent life, but was sometimes a little bit short. He was considered as belonging to the lowest caste. However, he made some friends among it. People saw Mert as cultivated, eager to read and learn when possible, and mastering writing, which he did for friends. He was vigorous, muscular, and had a near perfect body. He was iron-willed, achieving any goal he set.
