Bakshishum Drapul, (1791, 1845) was a moneylender in Isfahan.
Bakshishum believed in Rabbinic Judaism.
He was at the time the top fortune in the world and lived an opulent life, richer than a whole country. He belonged to an influential family that could help in any occasion. Moreover, he was seen as belonging to the low nobility and as such, was somewhat courtised by many people. He was a major cultural actor of the time, and known to have autored masterpieces. He was strong, beautiful, and long lived. He was iron-willed, achieving any goal he set.
Bakshishum, 48 years old, moneylender, became the new leader of the family.
At the age of 54, Bakshishum wanted to strenghten the family. He took the family treasure : the lute and decided to use it daily so its power diffused into his actions. Having such a treasure everyday boosted totally his morale and his will. Half a year later, Bakshishum had to hold a very ceremonial speech and did well. On the first day of the month after, Bakshishum fell in love with Daria, a stunning woman, 30 years old, a foreman. Both married and lived together from now on.
A few weeks later, Daria got pregnant, and gave birth to a huge baby girl named Gilat.
