He lived a life of absolute poverty. Eating or sleeping in a safe place was a constant struggle. He was considered as belonging to the lowest caste. However, he made some friends among it. People saw Kaa as cultivated, eager to read and learn when possible, and mastering writing, which he did for friends. He was force of nature, and people saw in their body and beauty the incarnation of a god. He was soft-spirited, rejecting any responsability.
Kaa, 52 years old, guard, became the new leader of the family.
In the year 721, Kaa decided to visit the world. He went on a long journey and reached Nok, in Africa : mud houses along a hill. The travel was the occasion to do some merchandise dealing, and he made some business. Then he came back and was quite happy to find his house and family. A few days later, Kaa was driven away from Carthage for being different. The departure was sponsored by a local figure that gave him a recommandation, so he would be welcomed wherever he went. The family settled in Matara.
