Soteira Butuner, (1755, ?) was a salt miner in Lisbon.
Soteira believed in Calvinism.
She was doing well financially. She owned a house and some fine goods with it. She belonged to the low caste of the society, and had some friends among the servants, beggars and workers. People saw Soteira as cultivated, eager to read and learn when possible, and mastering writing, which she did for friends. She was strong, beautiful, and long lived. She had an unbending mind, always reaching their goal.
