Grypos Gardiens, (929, 1086) was a monk in Syracuse.
Grypos believed in Folk religion.
He lived a life of absolute poverty. Eating or sleeping in a safe place was a constant struggle. He was considered as belonging to the lowest caste. However, he made some friends among it. He had no culture at all and lived like a beast. He was vigorous, muscular, and had a near perfect body. He was known to be lazy, barely waking up in the morning.
Grypos, 142 years old, monk, became the new leader of the family.
Aged 157, Grypos looked for a child to adopt. Alas, he didn't have enough wealth to achieve this goal. He felt really sad. On the next full moon, Grypos lost an eye in a domestic accident.
