He lived mostly in extreme poverty. Simply eating was an issue, most of the days. He was considered as belonging to the lowest caste. However, he made some friends among it. People saw Fasika as cultivated, eager to read and learn when possible, and mastering writing, which he did for friends. He was physically powerful, with a perfect body in a perfect health. He was mostly indecisive, usually accepting any order from anyone.
Fasika, 16 years old, porter, became the new leader of the family.
8 years later, Fasika spent time socializing with people in Naqa. He made some strong friendships (and a couple of enemies). Half a year later, Fasika had to quit Naqa after a flood. The departure was sponsored by a local figure that gave him a recommandation, so he would be welcomed wherever he went. The family settled in Matara. On the first day of the month after, Fasika had his house burned in an accident.
