Behenu believed in Berber religion.
She lived mostly in extreme poverty. Simply eating was an issue, most of the days. She lived as an outcast. To tell the truth, in Katsina-Ala, she gained the trust or the friendship of no one. People saw Behenu as cultivated, eager to read and learn when possible, and mastering writing, which she did for friends. She was vigorous, muscular, and had a near perfect body. She was iron-willed, achieving any goal she set.
Behenu, 32 years old, brick maker, became the new leader of the family.
In the year 1478, Behenu stole something very precious but got caught. She had to give all her belongings and leave Manda Island. The family settled in Katsina-Ala. On the first day of the month after, Behenu mourned the loss of a dear friend. A few weeks later, Behenu couldn't heal a sore tooth.
12 years later, Behenu lost her beliefs and turned to Berber religion. At the same time, Behenu brought justice in her neighborough.
